On November 1, 2024, the Education and Student Affairs Planning Committee and Center for Management of Teaching and Learning jointly held the 4th University-wide FD Workshop of 2024 "FD Activity Results Report" online, with 43 participats.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice President and Trustee Akiharu Morimoto (in charge of University Reform, Education, and Information) gave opening remarks, followed by a summary report on the FY2023 FD activity report from Center for Management of Teaching and Learning. After that, five faculty members made presentations on their own departmental FD activities at School of Law, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Biological Science and Technology, and School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Each faculty member reported on the overview of the 2023 FD activity and future issues, introduction classes in English for Legal Studies, implementation of a lecture on software tools for educational activities, and introduction and current status of a pilot program for student report writing.
In the latter half of the plenary discussion, various opinions were exchanged under the facilitation of Toru Hayashi - Deputy Director of the Center for Management of Teaching and Learning. Finally, Advisor to the President (FD Committee Chair) - Atsuko Goda gave closing remarks.
The workshop was very meaningful, with participants expressing that the distinctive FD activities of each department were very helpful to other departments as well.
