On October 21, Kanazawa University held the second research exchange meeting with the Exponential Biomedical Digital Transformation Research Center (eMEDX) of the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), a partner university in Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "J-PEAKS Project: Regional Core and Distinctive Research Universities Strengthening Promotion Project" as part of the project to strengthen research capabilities.
The first event was held in June at Takara-machi /Tsuruma campus, and this second event was held at the Kakuma Campus, with 31 participants.
Kanazawa University, Professor Seigo Kinuya from Faculty of Medicine Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, who serves as the Deputy Executive Director of the J-PEAKS Promotion Headquarters, gave a speech. The speach was followed by Associate Professor Shinji Watanabe and Associate Professor Takahiro Nakayama from Nano Life Science Institute, Associate Professor Yusuke Masuo from Faculty of Pharmacy of Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, Assistant Professor Yutaro Yamamoto and Assistant Professor Masayuki Munekane, Associate Professor Katsuya Sakai from Cancer Research Institute, Assistant Professor Soichiro Kumamoto, Lecturer Shigeki Nanjo from the Department of Respiratory Medicine University Hospital, Professor Kazuaki Matsumura, Professor Motoichi Kurisawa, Professor Eijiro Miyako, and Associate Professor Kenta Hongo from JAIST. Each of them gave a presentation on their research. Afterwards, a poster session and lively discussions took place at each university.
The research exchange meeting was a valuable opportunity to promote matching between Kanazawa University 's research seeds and eMEDX, as well as to develop and promote interdisciplinary fusion and collaborative research, making it a very meaningful exchange meeting.
Kanazawa University will continue to promote the strengthening of its research capabilities through this project, while also working to achieve the project's numerical targets for output and outcome, as well as realizing its vision for 10 years from now.
