On August 29 and September 6, a One-day Open Company (work experience) was held at Kanazawa University Facilities Department for current science and engineering students. The purpose of this event was to provide practical work experience for students, to improve their technical skills, and to let them know the attractiveness of Facilities Department.
After touring the office, the participating students experienced construction supervision at a construction site on the Kakuma campus. The students listened attentively to the Facilities Department staff and site supervisors.
Next, the students experienced drone operations. While struggling to operate a drone for the first time, the students who participated in the workshop seemed to be enjoying the process with smiles on their faces.
Other activities included group work and exchanges of opinions with young staff members of Facilities Department. Participating students commented that they were attracted by the opportunity to work through the entire process from construction design to facility management, and that it was helpful to hear valuable stories from university alumni.
