On August 27, Experimental Research Center for Envisioning the Future take-off event was held in the main hall of the Ishikawa Local Industry Promotion Center. 180 people attended the event.
During the opening ceremony, President Wada delivered the speech, which was followed by Hidetoshi Shibuya, Chairman of Kanazawa University Industry-Academia Cooperation Association, and Yuko Tai, officer of the National University Corporation Support Division, Higher Education Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
After that, Director of Experimental Research Center for Envisioning the Future -
Trustee Shinichi Nakamura, introduced the Center's activities under the title "The Role of Experimental Research Center for Envisioning the Future and Future Activities".
At this event, 15 research projects depicting the ideal future society were introduced through pitches and exhibits in a "showcase." In the exhibition area, researchers and students gave explanations while letting participants actually touch the latest technological devices. Participants commented: "It seems relevant to our company's business", "There were initiatives that we would like to implement in our local government" and "I look forward to a society in the future where these technologies are used in various places." The event was an opportunity to discuss the future society beyond the boundaries of industries and fields.
Experimental Research Center for Envisioning the Future was established in April 2023 as an innovation hub will purpose to impact future society through "Future-oriented Intelligence," to explore and overcome future challenges, with the aim of accelerating the social implementation of research results and contributing to the development of research.
Starting with this take-off event, we will promote innovations that will transform future society through collaborative efforts among industry, academia, government, and academia with the cooperation of all related organizations.
