On August 10 (Day of Tanabata, a star festival in the lunar calendar), Kanazawa University and Kanazawa College of Art held an event "Noto Motto!" at the Ishikawa Prefectural Library to support the recovery of the Noto region! This event was planned to provide an opportunity for everyone, from children to adults, to think about Noto, learn more about Noto, and think about Noto's recovery. In addition, about 600 original badges designed by students of Kanazawa College of Art were prepared and distributed to visitors on the day of the event.
Bamboos cut down at the Kakuma Campus were set up at the event site, and visitors wrote their messages and wishes for Noto on original strips of paper decorated with the kiriko of the kiriko festival of the Noto Peninsula. In addition, students from Kanazawa College of Art held a "Workshop to learn about Noto through puzzles" and Kanazawa University students held a "Summer vacation free research consultation corner," where children enthusiastically worked on their own projects.
A large amount of money was raised through fundraising activities and will be delivered to the Ishikawa branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society through the Ishikawa Prefectural Library to support the recovery of Noto.
