On July 23, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative Human Resource Development Group held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA "Let's Talk about Future City Planning" at Kakuma Campus as part of Project: AERU. Kanazawa University 14 students, faculty, and staff participated in the event.
ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA" is an exchange program that creates a place for casual chats between students, faculty, and staff of Kanazawa University and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, type of business, or position, the program helps students to develop their careers and faculty members and participating companies to generate ideas.
First, Mr. Kazutomo Yasue, Director of the Regional Revitalization Division of Kanazawa City Urban Policy Bureau, spoke about his career, his current job, and the future vision for Kanazawa City.
During the chat session 6 young Kanazawa city employees joined the group to discuss topics such as "Why don't people go into the city center?" and many opinions and ideas were raised, such as "Transportation is inconvenient" and "It would be easier to get to if there were more parking lots closer to town."
