On July 21, Noto Resilience and Revitalization Center held the Noto Satoyama Satoumi Future Creation Symposium simultaneously at three venues in Noto Town, Suzu City, and Kanazawa City, with approximately 210 people participating both in person and online.
After an opening address byPresident Takashi Wada , three faculty members and a student group from Kanazawa University reported on their research and volunteer activities as the 3rd Noto Peninsula 2024 Earthquake Research and Support Activity Report Meeting.
Following the session, Akihiro Yachie, Director of the Center, and Noriko Hasebe, Director of Institute for Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion, facilitated a talk session titled "Future Creation Talk" with guest speakers Hiroyuki Takahashi, Representative Director of Amekaze Taiyo Inc. and Aiko Ishizuka, Representative Director of Melchen Nisshindo Co. After the presentations by Mr. Takahashi and Ms. Ishizuka, the participants were divided into groups at each venue to discuss the theme of "the future of Noto," and the results of the discussions were reported online.
Kanazawa University will continue to work together with faculty, staff, and students to provide support to those affected by the disaster, conduct research toward reconstruction, and hold report sessions.
