On July 11, Kanazawa University and Daicel Corporation held the "2nd Career Trail Lecture @ BGIC" at the Biomass Green Innovation Center (BGIC) with 27 students, faculty, and staff. The Career Trail Lecture is intended to provide students, faculty, and staff with a broad overview of how universities and companies are co-creating solutions to social issues, and to create opportunities for students and companies to work together to develop new career paths. This second session welcomed Koichi Tsuzuki Professor of Shinshu University's Faculty of Engineering, who has extensive experience at Hitachi, Ltd.

First, Mr. Tsuzuki gave a lecture titled "Co-creation Skills Necessary for Any Job: Fusion of Wisdom from Humanities and Sciences to Survive in the Future," in which he discussed the importance of co-creation as a method for solving social issues based on his own experience and his expectations for BGIC as a place for co-creation.

Next, the participants were divided into three groups for a group discussion on "Let's chat about co-creation”. After the discussion, participants deepened their thoughts on co-creation, with Mr. Tsuzuki providing feedback on the opinions expressed by the groups, such as, "Co-creation leads to people in different positions enjoying their differences toward the same goal”

In addition, as a "fusion of arts and sciences," a panel discussion was held with Professor Takashi Arai from Kanazawa University`s?Institute of Science and Engineering Faculty of Chemistry.Professor Arai? moderated a panel discussion with researchers from Daicel Corporation, Kanazawa University URA, and Administrative Staff as panelists, discussing the future that BGIC aims for and expectations for students from their respective standpoints.

After the lecture, participants commented, "It was a lecture that helped us to understand the importance of co-creation," and "It was good to deepen my thinking about the word 'co-creation,' which is so beautiful that I might have missed it if I had not paid attention to it"
