On May 21, a special lecture entitled "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I)" was held at Kakuma Campus with Ms. Megumi Tsukamoto, Representative Trustee of the Digital Society Forum. Approximately 60 faculty, staff and students of the university participated in the lecture.
Ms. Tsukamoto explained the concept of DE&I (※) and introduced examples of companies promoting DE&I based on his own experience at a global company. The lector said that in order to realize DE&I,
in addition to fostering an organizational culture that respects diversity as an organization and designing systems, it is also important for each individual to perceive DE&I as their own and take actions.
After the special lecture, lector Tsukamoto was invited as a guest speaker to the exchange space 〇KU〇KU (Wakuwaku), and partisipated in the event ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA "Diversity, Equity & Inclusion!? Let’s discuss!"
The discussion was held on the theme of the individual's status and work ethic in a society where DE&I has become widespread, and it was a valuable opportunity for the students to deepen their understanding of DE&I and think about their own careers.
