On May 17, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative Human Resource Development Group held ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA: "Kanazawa University students talking with OBs! What is important to be active in the workplace" was held at the Kakuma Campus as part of Project: AERU!
ZATSUDAN NO CHIKARA is a program that creates opportunities for casual chats between students, faculty and staff, and people in the community. By freely discussing with each other without being restricted by occupation, industry, or position, we hope to help students develop their careers and generate ideas for faculty, staff, and participating companies.
First, Kanazawa University graduate Mr. Tetsuhiko Ikejima, working at Shimadzu Corporation, gave a speach about the differences between what is required at school and in society, and what he values in his work, such as challenging oneself and taking action immediately, based on his career and experiences.
After that partisipants were chatting about the following questions: Is there anything I should do while I am a university student in order to become a good worker? What are the deciding factors when deciding where to work?
The participating students commented, "I was really impressed by what you said about the importance of taking on challenges and taking action quickly," and "I have been hesitant to take on challenges even though there are many things I want to do, but I have decided to take the first step and be prepared for failure.
