Eligibility and capacity: 18 students from Kanazawa University (If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held. Priority will be given to first and second year school)

On July 2, 2024, a "Gakusei Social Studies Field Trip" will be held for Kanazawa University students as part of the Leading STEAM Human Resource Development Program (KU-STEAM).
Through experiences that utilize the local community and interactions with people, school field trips encourage students to think from multiple angles, providing an opportunity to generate new solutions to social issues and create innovations.
The spots we will be visiting this time are Kaga Construction Co., Ltd. (head office), Miso Soup Restaurant Soramiso Kanaishi branch, Kokkore Kanaiwa, Cafe Ten Riverside, and Kanaishi Machiya (tentative name).

Facility tour
The tour will visit Kaga Kensetsu Co., Ltd. and the facilities it operates as part of its community revitalization project: Omisoshiru Shokudo Sora Miso Kaneishi, Kokkore
Kaga Kensetsu Co., Ltd. and the facilities operated by Kaga Kensetsu Co.
Company Introduction
Mr. Tsuruyama, President of Kaga Corporation, will give an explanation of the company's activities.
Question and answer session
In addition to Mr. Tsuruyama, President & CEO Kanazawa University, a Q&A session will be held with graduates to deepen their understanding of Kaga Kensetsu K.K.'s activities.
Machiya House Tour
A townhouse with a charm of more than 100 years old was renovated and opened in 2023 as a community space where everyone from children to adults can freely spend their time.
The tour will visit Kaneishi Machiya (tentative), which will open in 2023 as a community space where everyone, from children to adults, can freely spend time. There, they will learn about the artist-in-residence program*.

Outline of the spot we will visit
Kaga Kensetsu Kabushiki Kaisha, Ltd.
Kaga Kensetsu K.K. was founded in 1943 as Kaga Shipbuilding K.K. in Kaneishi, Kanazawa City, and is currently engaged in civil engineering, construction, and community revitalization projects.

Omisoshiru Shokudo Sora Miso Kaneishi Branch
Sora Miso Kaneishi offers a set meal of miso soup and omusubi (rice balls) made with local ingredients, including traditional miso, a specialty of Kaneishi, and fresh seafood. Kanabo tea and miso soft-serve ice cream, an original sweet, are also popular.

Kokkore kanaiwa.
A complex facility where visitors can enjoy various activities such as eating, working, choosing, and relaxing on a small hill. The name "cockerel" is a coined word combining the Latin word "colle," meaning "small hill," and "co," meaning "to gather," and also expresses our wish for the "future of Kaneishi.

Cafe Ten riverside
A specialty store of home-roasted Kanabocha. Kanabocha" is a stick tea that has been popular in the port town of Kinseki since ancient times, and is characterized by its refreshing taste and aroma with little bitterness.

Kaneishi Machiya (tentative)
Renovated from a large traditional townhouse over 100 years old, it will be opened in July 2023 as a community space where everyone from children to adults can freely spend time, a "place to stay & learn" in Kanazawa City's Kanaishi. It will open in July 2023 as a community space where everyone from children to adults can freely spend time, equipped with a variety of spaces including a living room, kitchen, atelier, co-working space, and Japanese-style room. It was awarded the 46th Kanazawa Urban Beauty and Culture Award.

If there are too many applicants, a drawing will be held. You will be notified within one week after the application deadline. (In the event of a lottery, priority will be given to applicants in the first and second year at school.)
?Transportation to and from the meeting place and food and beverage expenses are to be borne by the participants themselves.
The time of dismissal may be subject to change due to road conditions.
Photos and videos will be taken on the day of the event for recording and publicity purposes.
Please make sure to subscribe to the insurance at Gakkensai. Those who do not have insurance will not be allowed to participate in the event.
If you have lectures or other classes at the university, please give priority to those classes or other classes.
No credit will be given.

In case of no-show, you may be restricted from participating in the next and subsequent sessions.
If a participant falls under any of the following categories, he/she will be asked to postpone his/her participation.
(1) If the participant is not feeling well (e.g., fever, cough, sore throat, etc.)
(2) If there is a family member or close acquaintance living with the participant who is suspected to be infected.
