On October 22, 13 trainees of Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program, 1 alumni of last year’s program, Mayors of Honduan and Mayoyao Towns, and President Eva Marie C. Dugyon and 3 delegates from Ifugao State University visited Kanazawa University and paid a courtesy visit to President Koets Yamazaki.
At the meeting, Mr. Hilario T. Bumangabang, Mayor of Honduan and a member of Ifugao GIAHS Sustainable Development Committee offered his greetings on behalf of the delegation, followed by a message from President Dugyon and self-introduction of each trainee, and active conversation took place until the closing time.
The trainees arrived in Japan on October 21, and they will take part in the program until October 26. The program agenda includes visit to Noto senmaida (rice terraces) and farmers’ houses. The trainees are expected take advantage of their experience in Japan and to involve themselves in activities as Satoyama Meister in their home country.
