From June 21 to 26, Kanazawa University International Student Center hosted a Chaki and Shodo Exhibition at Ishikawa International Exchange Salon.

In this exhibition, 50 tea bowls and 39 calligraphy works were displayed, which entertained many visitors. Under the guidance of Toshio Ohi (11th Ohi Chozaemon), a visiting professor and a potter of Ohiyaki, and Korin Nakamura, a chirographer, international students from 14 different countries and several Japanese students crafted these art works. The art works were praised for distinct designs.

As part of this exhibition, international students held a tea ceremony on June 25. These students have been learning Japanese tea ceremony from Soki Matsui, a master of tea ceremony of Urasenke School. This was a great opportunity for the students to show their mastery from the lessons.

Kanazawa University International Student Center offers international students numerous opportunities to learn about/experience Japanese culture through classes and extracurricular activities.
