On October 4, Kanazawa University Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies concluded a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Faculty of Language and Literature Education, Indonesia University of Education (IUE), regarding the implementation of cotutelle double-degree program for master’s program.
With this MoA, a cotutelle system has been established whereby students can write their master's thesis under the joint supervision of both universities and receive a degree from each university by a single thesis, the first attempt at a dual degree program at Kanazawa University.
Assistant Professor Nuria Haristiani, Head of Master Study Program of Japanese Language Education of IUE, Professor KOJIMA Haruyuki, Dean of the Graduate School, Professor SHIMURA Megumi, Vice-President (International Affairs) and Professor ISHIGURO Morihisa, the chairperson of the international committee of Institute of Human and Social Sciences, attended the signing ceremony of MoA. After the ceremony, there was a lively exchange of opinions regarding future exchanges, etc. In addition, the Indonesian delegation was given a tour of the lecture building of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the library, through which they were introduced to the history, Japanese language education, research, and other aspects of KU.
