On February 6, the First Ghent University – Kanazawa University Joint Seminar "Cell Death Modalities: Regulation, Phagocytosis and Relevance to Diseases" took place in Ghent, Belgium. President Koetsu Yamazaki and 7 faculty and staff members from Kanazawa University participated in the event. Four researchers from Kanazawa and 6 researchers from Ghent made presentations in the field of cell death modalities, and it was an essential opportunity to promote research exchanges and collaborations.
Also, on the same day, a poster session by the graduate students in medicine and pharmacy from the two universities took place. There was much active interaction at this event, too.
Prior to the seminar, on February 5, the delegates paid courtesy visits to Mayor Daniel Termont of Ghent City and Rector Rik van De Walle of Ghent University, and also observed the facilities at VIB-Gent, a major research institute in biosciences.
