On January 31, 2018, as part of the “Considering the Future of Work Styles” project, the Kanazawa University project team invited Yukina YASUE for a lecture to Kanazawa University. Ms. Yasue is an Executive Managing Director, of Keikakujoho Kenkyujo, a consulting company in Kanazawa. The project team consists of Daisuke ITO, an assistant professor of Office of Global Affairs, and 11 Kanazawa University students including graduate, undergraduate and international students.

Keikakujoho Kenkyujo is a company that allows their employees to work flexibly, which is rare in Japan. Ms. Yasue explained the ideas behind the company’s policies and how actual employees work. One student said, “It was not like, ‘this is how women should work, this is how men should work,’ but rather, ‘each employee is different.’ The company successfully puts that idea into practice, and I thought that would be an ideal company.” “Ms. Yasue’s words like ‘different people have different work styles’ or ‘we listen to and incorporate everybody’s ideas’ impressed me,” said another. Many students expressed their interests in working at a company like Keikakujoho Kenkyujo.
