On November 17, 18 high school and university students and 1 chaperone faculty from the institutions in Vientiane, Laos, visited Kanazawa University. This visit was organized as a part of JENESYS 2017 Program, a project by the Japanese government to promote the foreign nationals’ understanding of Japanese politics, economy, society, culture, history, diplomatic stance, etc., especially in Asia.
After the greeting remarks from Vice President for International Affairs Yoshio Otani, the delegation toured Kakuma Campus, and they participated in a cultural event with Kanazawa University students, where they introduced Laos and enjoyed traditional Lao dance and Japanese origami together. Also, the delegation attended a Japanese language lecture by Professor Mariko Saiki of the International Student Center.
This time’s visit is expected to further promote the exchanges between Laos and Kanazawa University.
