On Thursday, March 29, the delegates from University of Brawijaya in Indonesia paid a courtesy visit to President Nakamura. The delegation of Prof. Ifar Subagiyo, Director of International Office and Dr. Agus Suharyanto, Regional Officer, came to Japan to discuss future exchanges related to the Agreement between University of Brawijaya and Kanazawa University which is currently under consideration. From our university, President Shin-ichi Nakamura, Vice President for Research and International Affairs Isamu Nagano, and Adviser to the President Dr. Hidemi Nagao were in attendance. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, and there was much conversation including a talk about East Java where University of Brawijaya is located and the exchange of souvenir gifts.
Afterward, the delegates met with Vice President Nagano, Dr. Masaru Kitaura, former Head of International Student Center, Dr. Koji Nakamura, Head of Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology, Prof. Masatoshi Yuhi of Faculty of Environmental Design, Prof. Yoshihiko Uesugi of Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Svadlenka Karel of Faculty of Mathematics and Physics to discuss future student and researcher exchanges and the possibility of joint research. In addition, Ms. Nur Shofianah, a lecturer of University of Brawijaya who is enrolled as a doctoral student at our university with Dr. Karel as adviser, attended the meeting and shared her research and life experiences at Kanazawa University with the delegates.
