For two days from September 28 to 29, at Kakuma Campus, Kanazawa University co-hosted the 2nd Joint Symposium between Chiang Mai University and Kanazawa University. President Niwes Nantachit and 26 other delegates including Vice Presidents and researchers from Chiang Mai University and President Koetsu Yamazaki, Vice Presidents, faculty and staff and students from Kanazawa University took part, and there were approximately 70 participants in total.
The symposium was organized based on the university-level international partnership which was concluded in January 2008, in succession of the 1st Symposium which took place in Chang Mai, Thailand in February 2014, with the purpose of promoting research exchange and bringing the two universities even closer. At this time’s symposium, there were presentations about the most advanced research at the two universities in the fields of medicine, biomedical science, development of new technology as university’s social responsibility, and disaster study. A poster session also took place. It was an excellent opportunity to promote researcher exchanges and collaborations between the two universities.
Also prior to the symposium, on 27, a meeting took place between the executive teams from Chiang Mai University and Kanazawa University, and also on 28th, the CMU delegates observed Kanazawa University Cancer Research Institute and Bio-AFM Frontier Research Center.
