President of Kanazawa University
To students whose financial situation changed suddenly
due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024.
I am deeply concerned about students who face unexpected sudden changes in their household finances due to the Noto Peninsula earthquake of 2024 and are worried about continuing their studies.
For students in financial difficulty due to such sudden changes, there are national systems (e.g. scholarships from JASSO) available to help them continue their studies, but in addition to this, we have decided to implement our own emergency student support measures as described below to help improve the lives of students affected by the disaster. Students who have financial concerns due to this earthquake should contact the department in charge below for advice.
We will continue to provide support in accordance with the situation so that students can live safe and secure lives.
Our original financial support system: “Kanazawa University Emergency Student Support Loan for Sudden Changes in Household Finances”
? Applicable students: Degree-students who have experienced a sudden change in their finances due to the job loss, bankruptcy, accident, illness or death of the person who maintains the student’s livelihood, or due to a disaster such as a fire or flood, and who wish to apply for the JASSO Scholarship newly or for an increase in the scholarship amount.
International students should consult One-Stop Consultation Counter for International Students Administration below about using the ‘Kanazawa University Emergency Loan for International Students’ instead of this system.
