 On November 22, Trustee Tatsuhiro Shiokawa, Associate Professor Aida Mammadova, and Associate Professor Tomoya Sato visited Hakusan City Hall to report to Hakusan City Mayor Toshikazu Tamura about receiving the UNESCO/Japan ESD Award with the project “Intergenerational Learning on ESD to revitalize remote communities inside Japanese UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and Geopark” (Award Ceremony: Paris, France).?
 In October 2015, Kanazawa University and Hakusan City signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement and have? been engaged in educational and research activities aimed to address challenges and revitalize the region in Hakusan City.
