Provision of rent-free accommodation in the student/international student dormitories (Hokumei and Sakigake)
For those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024, the University will provide the student/international student dormitories (Hokumei and Sakigake) rent-free for the time being (in principle, for six months). If you wish to move in earlier, please also consult the Student Counselling Section, Student Support Division, Educational and Student Affairs Department.

Tuition and entrance fee waiver
The University has a system for waiving (or deferring) the payment of entrance and tuition fees for students who have difficulty paying these fees for financial reasons.We also waive entrance and tuition fees for those affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024. For details on how to apply, please see below.Those who have already completed the enrolment procedures and will enrol in April 2024 will be notified individually on how to apply.

Lending of PCs
If it is difficult to prepare a portable PC due to financial reasons etc., the university will lend you a portable PC for six months (renewable for a maximum of six months). For more information, please see below.

JASSO Temporary Scholarships
The Japan Student Services Organisation (JASSO) has a scholarship system for students who have experienced a sudden change in family finances. Please consult Student Support Section, Student Support Division, Educational and Student Affairs Department(Mail:stsien@adm.kanazawa-u.ac.jp) if you wish to apply for this scholarship.

Kanazawa University Emergency Student Support Loan(for sudden change)
This is our original emergency student support system, which provides loans of up to ?100,000 (up to ?250,000 for students who have not paid their tuition fees at the time of application), with no interest and no guarantor, to students in financial difficulty due to a sudden change in their household finances.
